As a known leader in the B2B Media industry, John has earned his reputation by taking on challenging roles and producing results. He started his career in the Massachusetts area working for names like IDG, Penn Well, and CMP Publications. John then moved his career to Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey where he worked with a number of groups and eventually became the Vice President and Electronics Group Director for Penton Media, Inc. 

 

John began to build his notable reputation when he became the President of the PRIMEDIA B2B Division. That division was later sold to Wasserstein & Co. and became PRISM Business Media. During his time at PRIMEDIA and PRISM, the company saw an average CAGR digital growth of 50% each year and had consistent top and bottom line growth. PRISM then acquired Penton and the combined organizations became Penton Media, the industry's largest B2B media company. 

 

His most recent success story was with Cygnus Business Media where John became the company's CEO and served as a board member following the company's restructuring. With an innovative and break-out attitude, John lead the company through a recession and to new areas of success in the growing digital media industry. John helped Cygnus gain prominence in the B2B media industry by establishing and building digital platforms for the company's brands. Today, these platforms allow the company's new marketing initiatives to reach more than a million subscribers, readers, and online users every month. During John's last 18 months with Cygnus, he was tasked with leading the break-up of the company. Through this long process, John successfully did so in five separate transactions which ultimately returned all equity back to the shareholders.  

 

John now plans to continue his career by sharing his experiences and advising senior management wishing to create their own success stories. He has started this LLC in partnership with his wife, Nancy, the company's COO.
